                                                        19th "Sentry" Walking Tours

                                                        Walk through time in Point Pleasant Park

                                                        Incredibly, the picturesque 175 acre wooded park in the heart of downtown Halifax is rich in history almost beyond words.  The park was the first location of Halifax‘s settlement, was active in the wars of 1812, and the Napoleonic, warded off a potential attack by George Washington and much, much more.  Guests on this tour will undertake a 19th century mission for the King of England after being “pressed” in to His Majesty’s service and will be lead through the park as part of the training to being their 7 years of service.  Guests will receive a souvenir document regarding their enlistment.  En route they will learn the history of the park in a unique way indeed.  At the end of the tour each guest will have “opportunity” to escape their enlistment on to their coach.

                                                        Tour inclusions:
                                                        Ÿ         Fully certified and properly equipped Kattuk Expeditions’ wilderness guides actors may be included, 1:9 ratio
                                                        Ÿ         Guests are “pressed” into His Majesty’s service by a 19th century Sentry.
                                                        Ÿ         Souvenir enlistment document.
                                                        Ÿ         2 hour walking tour through the 175 acre historic Point Pleasant Park
                                                        Ÿ         Bottled water and granola bar during walk given as a week’s rations.
                                                        Ÿ         Learn the history of the park, walk along beautiful ocean views, stop at old fortifications, Prince of Wales Tower, beaches and more!

                                                        This tour begins at the Upper Parking lot of Point Pleasant Park at the end of Tower Rd. in downtown Halifax, transfer is a short 5 minutes from most downtown hotels and conference centres.
