Our most popular tour! This tour is an incredible journey through time and visits places with spectacular coastal scenery, massive granite glacial “erratics” and a working fishing village.  The hike travels 4.5 km through the Peggy’s Cove Preservation area along the shore to numerous ocean vistas.  The preservation area is as natural as it has been for thousands of years and is largely untouched by human development, many species of arctic and rare and endangered plants are visible at varying times of the season.  This tour begins and ends at the Peggy's Cove Visitor Centre located in the centre of the fishing village.  The village is an active fishing village and your guides are locals, they'll be happy to share their first hand knowledge of the village. Discover its history and way of life.

At the end of the last ice age, the area here buckled and folded as the great ice sheets slid away in to the sea.  A coastal outcropping of small hills, valleys, sea caves and islands formed.  The Duncan’s Cove preservation area is almost as natural as it has been for thousands of years and is largely untouched by human development, many species of arctic and rare and endangered plants are visible at varying times of the season.

Duncan’s Cove is home to one of the many Grey Seal colonies along Nova Scotia’s coast. The seals lay and play on the rocks just meters from shore and many times are visable on the shore itself.

This hike begins in the small costal village of Duncan’s Cove, just 30 minutes from Halifax. The tiny village has been a long time artisans’ village and gateway to the preservation area that bares its name.
