                                                        Each Kattuk Expeditions guide has a minimum certification in Wilderness and Remote First Aid, Wilderness Survival and Navigation, and has at least 3 years experience guiding tours, many Kattuk guides are local paramedics or work with our local Search And Rescue team.  During trips each guide will be equipped with a comprehensive first aid kit, washroom kit, extra water, snacks, cell phone, and radio as well as standard guiding equipment.  

                                                        Not only are they well equipped and qualified, our guides are FUN!  We are so fortunate to have a group of such personable and considerate people with a true passion for the outdoors.  We're sure you will enjoy their company as much as we enjoy working with them.  They're the best in the biz. 


                                                        Fred Stillman

                                                        Our lead guide intructor is Fred Stillman who has been leading eco/adventure tours throughout Atlantic Canda since 1999.  Fred has taught the Outdoor Guiding program and Outdoor Food Preparation courses at the Nova Scotia Community College.  In his spare time Fred leads bicycle trips in NS, PEI, NFLD and Croatia, fixes bikes for children in need, and acts as a volunteer trail warden with the Nova Scotia Trails Federation.  Fred possesses an "outdoor Leader's" certificate in Wilderness and Remote First Aid.


                                                        Adam Zita

                                                        Adam brings a wealth of outdoor leadership and teambuilding knowledge and experience to the team.  He loves what he does and it shows.  Adam has a solid understanding of group dynamics from children's groups to corporate adults.  Adam has a wonderful personality and is happiest outdoors with people.  He posses a Wilderness and Remote First Aid certificate as well as a host of other certifications essential for teambuilding and wilderness leadership.


                                                        Steve MacNeil

                                                        Steve’s passion for the outdoors can only be outdone by his passion for people.  Working as a local paramedic Steve has a genuine caring nature and a zest for life that is easily seen in his enormous smile.  He spends his free time with his 2 dogs Dudley and Zoe exploring Canada’s wilderness.  His wilderness skills include, multi-daty winter hiking and camping, climbing, sea kayaking, mountain biking & wilderness survival.



                                                        Paxton Smith

                                                        Paxton has been involved with the outdoor tourism industry in Nova Scotia for many years.  His experience and passion for showing people the area shines on every tour.  You just can't help but love Paxton.  Pax is very knowledgeable in many shoreline species of flora and fauna and is skilled at backpacking, hiking and multi-day wilderness camping.  


                                                        Trevor Morrissey

                                                        Trevor
                                                        Trevor brings years of outdoor trip leading experience to the team and as well as a solid first aid background.  Working as a hellicopter paramedic, Trevor handles challenging situations with ease and is happiest helping others.  He has a tremendous passion for the outdoors and enjoys the physical aspects of going on adventures.  He once cycled the Cabot Trail in 11 hours 45 minutes, an enduring trip that most fit people complete in 3-4 days.  His wilderness skills include sea kayaking, camping, climbing, bouldering, mountain biking, road cycling.

                                                        Jen Doliver

                                                        Jen
                                                        Jen has a passion for travel and exploring out-of-the-way wilderness areas.  Having travelled coast to coast, her wilderness experience is excellent.  Working in the nursing felid her first aid skills are superb and her caring personality shines through.  She’s happiest by the water and is comfortable hiking along the coast in any weather at any time of year.


                                                        Ian Vanderburg

                                                        Ian has been leading multi-day wilderness adventures for many years, his experience and passion for people and the outdoors provide groups with outstanding leadership.  His wilderness skills include Sea Kayaking, all season multi day camping, canoeing, mountain biking and rock climbing.  In his spare time Ian enjoys baking and building walking trails.  Ian possesses a certificate in advanced Wilderness and Remote First Aid.


                                                        Myles Evans

                                                        His quirky personality and tireless energy make Myles a "must have" on any St. Margaret's Bay bike tour.  You'll find him working at the Bike & Bean Cafe or leading trips along the shores of the bay.  He's your guy for bike repairs and knows his way around the area well.  Myles has an entrepreneurial spirit and is passionate about the tourism industry in Nova Scotia.


                                                        Hardi

                                                        Hardi is our ever faithful K9 companion, she is lovable, kind and very energetic!  She is most at home with people and other dogs in the woods or by the sea and never leaves our side.  Hardi carries a first aid kit and extra water and snacks, she loves having a job to do.  Although she loves to join our hiking tours, she can spend the day visiting other friends by request J
