Necky Looksha 17 - polymer

Fast, 17 foot kayak, with rudder, good initial stability - high secondary

$80 per person + HST

The Looksha 17 easily accommodates medium to larger paddlers and all of their gear. And when stowing gear, you'll find the bow and stern hatches are the largest hatch openings ever designed by Necky. High initial stability, excellent glide and outstanding acceleration ensure that strong currents, tides or wind chop up to four feet won't slow you down.

To say the sunsets at McNab's Island are spectacular is an understatement.  Join us all summer long on the shores of McNab's. Starting from our adventure centre located in Fisherman's Cove, we'll paddle to Lawlor's and then to the north end of McNab's for some terrific views of the sunset over the harbour and make our way back in time for a seaside barbecue.

Half day $25, Full day $45 +HST. Transportation to island available through local boat operators.

McNab's Island - It has kilometers of old roads that are perfect for biking.  Biking is a great way to get around the island and to explore the main roads and designated bike paths. The island is over 5 km long, so having a bike will allow you to easily see the entire island in one day. Our trail bikes are perfect for these old roads, with comfortable seats and front shocks. They are new, lightweight and all have disk brakes. PLEASE NOTE: The bikes are for use on the old roads only and are not to be used on hiking paths, this area is sensitive and riding off the roads is prohibited.  

Salt Marsh trail - Just 2 km from our office are the Shearwater Flyer, Salt Marsh Trail and Atlantic view trails  totaling over 25km linear trail system that hugs the coastline and marshlands and travels over bridges and leads to beautiful beaches and coastal ecosystems.  The scenery is astounding. Looksha Sport - Polymer

Daily rate $20 + HST

Slacklining is super fun and tests your balance.  It's challenging and confidence building.  It fun for friends, solo slackers or for family picnics.  Great entertainment for birthday parties.

Seaward Infinity - Thermoformed

$20 per day + HST

Geocaching is a super fun way to explore McNab's Island.  Our hand-held, waterproof, full colour GPS units are pre-programmed with the locations of the 20+ geocaches hidden on McNab's Island.   Transportation is available through tour operators in our cove.  This can also be booked as a group team building activity.

28 Government Wharf Rd.  Fisherman's Cove 

We're literally a stone's throw from the islands.  Our sheltered location and close proximity mean safe access to the islands with no open water crossings. 

Getting to us easy.  

Since we're located in close proximity to the city centre, you can reach us in various ways.

From Halifax


Driving: From downtown Halifax (17 min) take the MacKay Bridge and drive straight toward Eastern Shore for 18 km to the end of hwy 111, turn left for 5 km and follow signs to Fisherman's Cove.

Transit: From downtown Halifax take the #1 bus to the Dartmouth Terminal and transfer to the #60 (transfers are free). http://www.halifax.ca/transit/Schedules/

From Dartmouth


The best way to reach us from various parts of Dartmouth is to make your way to highway 111 and follow it south to the end.  Turn left and drive 5 km to Fisherman's Cove.

Our location (Fisherman's Cove) has over 200 free parking spots. Kattuk guests should park near our office at 28 Government Wharf Rd.
