2020 SABLE ISLAND EXPEDITIONS

This is your opportunity to explore one of Canada's most magnificent ecological reserves. Working with Parks Canada and the Sable Island Institute, our very small group adventures to Sable Island National Park Reserve for a full day of exploring, horse and seal viewing, and education. 

***COVID 19 UPDATE*** Due to social distancing restrictions and safety practices, additional measures to   protect guests, park staff, airplane and helicopter staff, and Kattuk staff will be taken. These measures may include additional sanitizing of footwear and baggage handles, PPE worn during close spaces and inside aircraft, on-island outdoor washroom facilities and social distancing of 2 meters when possible. Any equipment provided by Kattuk Expeditions will be sanitized with a Health Canada approved cleaning solution prior to each use.  Staff will wear masks when necessary. Anyone feeling ill or exhibiting flu like symptoms will not be permitted to participate.  Thank you for your co-operation.

Sable Island Horses, Dunes and Seal Colony - Fixed Wing

One of the most magical places in the world is Sable Island. Located 300 kilometres off of Nova Scotia's rugged coast, lies a 42 km sandbar that is home to over 400 wild horses and the world's largest Grey Seal colony; with over 300,000 seals and 50,000 - 80,000 born each year. Your Kattuk Expeditions guide has permission to lead our small group at our leisure along the horse paths and beaches of the island. Most times we are the only visitors there. It is awe inspiring to say the least.

2021 - Dates TBA.  4 days / 3 nights. Join us for an adventure of epic proportion with famed photographer Debra Garside. Board our expedition vessel and overnight to Sable Island National Park Reserve for a photographic journey you'll never forget.  We'll spend two full days on the island (sun up to sundown) in a small group finding the best locations to capture the magic that is Sable Island.
